I AM Reiki: I & II Certification Training

I AM Reiki is a return to the core of Reiki as an enlightenment path. Reiki Levels 1 and 2—focused on self-healing and the facilitation of healing for others—serve as a gateway to the deeper path of spiritual transformation. These foundational stages support the mind and body in becoming aware of what lies beneath the surface, allowing for the acknowledgment and release of core wounds.

Healing is therefore not separate from the spiritual path—it is the essential gateway to Reiki’s power of transformation. Once awakened through self-attunement, Reiki is akin to the kundalini energy. This evolutionary potential lies dormant at the base of the spine in all human beings.

To the extent that we intentionally acknowledge and heal our past reactive wounds, this empowering energy begins to awaken and ascend as light through the seven major chakras. Each chakra must be prepared through intentional healing for the inner journey of transformation—from darkness to light.

Healing, as introduced in Reiki 1 and Reiki 2, is vital for the awakening of this evolutionary force, which is known in Japan as Kundangiri Shakura, a term referring to kundalini shakti.

Reiki is an ancient wisdom tradition, timeless and beyond space. Globally known as Reiki Ryoho, the system is credited to Mikao Usui Sensei, who shared Usui Reiki Ryoho following his awakening. We are eternally grateful to him for this transmission.

Devdasi and Mohan have studied with Gurudev Shri Amritji Desai since the mid-1970s. Between 2010 and 2019, they also spent nearly a decade traveling back and forth to Japan to study with Hiroshi Doi Sensei, a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. They immediately recognized the teachings of Usui Sensei, as transmitted through Doi Sensei’s Gakkai training, to be the same Prana Awakening that Swami Kripalu shared through Shri Amritji at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and the Integrative Amrit Methods (IAM).
