*This module is a continuation of Yoga Therapy I, prerequisite training.

These techniques enhance the effect of physical poses and support emotional integration – especially when combined with our unique coaching methods. The methods of yoga therapy you learn here work at a deeper layer than traditional yoga therapy, allowing people to access experiences ranging from stress relief and stretch to release of old feelings, fears and psychosomatic causes of disease.

This training is the culmination of all the I AM Methods – combining many healing principles and techniques into one universally accessible and powerful practice. Course Features

Draw on elements from contact yoga, yogassage, phoenix rising yoga therapy, thai yoga therapy and traditional yoga styles to promote total body opening. Support yourself and others to increase range of motion, reduce pain and inflammation, heal burnout and improve mental and physical wellbeing by freeing the body’s ability to heal itself.

  • Learn how to facilitate the profound release of mental and emotional tension
  • Acquire new techniques to assist you in integrating unresolved blocks in the body
  • Experience both prop and partner assisted sequences that address the major holding zones in the body.
  • Lead a one-on-one and/or group session including: intake, assessment, customized yoga therapy session, integration, and debrief catering to individualized needs.
  • Combine poses that elicit profound physical and emotional releases with the internal healing work of Yoga Nidra.*
  • Understand how to approach conditions such as pregnancy, hip replacements, joint conditions, fibromyalgia, heart conditions and more.
  • In addition to promoting your personal development, this training is excellent for psychologists, counselors, health and healing professionals, and bodyworkers in search of new tools to serve their clients.
  • Discover how to healthfully integrate and release emotions for yourself and others
  • Use various experiences to connect with and learn to listen to the energy of the body and what it is saying to you.

    Kamini Desai, Ph.D.

    Kamini is a master teacher. She has been teaching for over 30 years and has created a unique body of teachings combining the ancient wisdom of yoga with science and modern psychology.

    Kamini is the acclaimed author of  Yoga Nidra: The Art of Transformational Sleep and developer of the I AM Yoga® Nidra app. She also authored Life Lessons, Love Lessons, which demonstrates how to use the principles of Yoga in life and in relationships via her personal life story.

    Kamini is considered an expert in the inner sciences of yoga, relaxation and artful living. She is a frequent guest speaker and teacher at various nationally accredited institutions for higher learning throughout the United States, Europe and India. Her guided I AM Yoga® Nidra experiences have been used in various government institutions.

    Here’s What You’ll Experience During Your

    I AM Yoga® Therapy Level II Hands-On Certification

    In this training you will learn how to give individualized yoga therapy sessions as well as group yoga therapy classes.

    We have provided ample time during this training for integration, supervised practicum, as well as one-on-one practice sessions. Not only is this course developed in a way for you to assist others; it also serves as a powerful tool for your own personal journey.

    You will gain insights into the yogic theory of energy, self-actualization, and healing, and learn how to conduct a body scan and assess the results.

    • Reprogram the mental and emotional patterns that produce dis-ease.
    • Boost immunity with increased blood and lymph flow.
    • Reduce stiffness, pain, tension and inflammation.
    • Improve posture and range of motion.
    • Long term restoration of body function following an injury or surgery.
    • Increased energy, Mental clarity, emotional balance, and assistance to reduce and eliminate unhealthy patterns of thinking.

    I AM Yoga® Therapy II Also Includes:

    • In addition to promoting your personal development, this training is excellent for yoga teachers, bodyworkers, physical therapists, holistic counselors and health and healing professionals in search of new tools to serve their clients.
    • Yoga Therapists are increasingly working in pain clinics, and in conjunction with doctors, chiropractors, physiotherapists, physical therapists, senior treatments centers and rehabilitation clinics.
    • While Yoga Therapy I is appropriate for everyone, Yoga Therapy II is more physical and is best suited for those with moderate stamina and strength.
    • Some bodywork, healing modality or yoga experience is helpful, but not required.

    How can i use my hours?

    • This course is 60 hours. Combined with Yoga Therapy I is 100 hours and upon completion of 8 documented sessions provides 120 Hour Yoga Therapy certification.
    • Completion Yoga Therapy I & II Certification allows you to become a member of IAYT (The International Association of Yoga Therapists).
    • If you are already a member of IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), hours can be used towards continuing education requirements

    Completion of Yoga Therapy I and II count towards Amrit Yoga Institute’s 800hr IAYT accredited yoga therapist program.

    How do I get Certified?

    After successful completion of Yoga Therapy I and II. You will need to document and submit 8 session reports. Once approved, you will be certified as a 120 hour Yoga Therapist.

    Can I call myself a Yoga Therapist once complete?

    In most locations, yes. However it is incumbent upon the graduate to find out the laws in their state or country and comply with them.

    Is this Yoga Alliance approved?

    Yes, you can receive CEs with Yoga Alliance for this program. Additionally, this course is part of our larger 800-hour Yoga Therapy program which is accredited with IAYT.

    Once I graduate, what is my status with IAYT?

    You are qualified to become a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
